Component Restoration Through Metal Spraying
Metal spraying builds up worn or damaged surfaces with a bonded metal coating. Components can then be machined back to specification to restore fit and serviceability.
PRD completes metal spraying using TERODYN 2000, SuperJet-S and a twin arc metal spraying system, as part of repair and restoration work across the Pilbara.
What is Metal Spraying?
Metal spraying rebuilds worn or damaged areas by applying a controlled metal coating to a prepared surface. The component is cleaned and keyed so the coating bonds properly, then material is applied in layers to build thickness where it’s needed. PRD uses a powder-fed spray process, allowing build-up to be matched to the repair area. Where required, the restored surface is then machined back to final dimensions.
